Welcome to Merry Mixers!

Last Spring, our 61st Anniversary Gala was a big success!! Raising $43,500, the Merry Mixers were proud to present a check to the hospital - money the hospital desperately needed to brighten the lives of both the patients and their families!

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to our corporate sponsors: Natixis Global Asset Management and BNY Mellon, for their generous contributions. A big thank you as well to Haley's Wines and Spirits of Marblehead for helping us welcome each guest with a free drink - perfect way to begin the evening! And of course, our continued gratitude to the local community for their constant enthusiasm and support!

We kicked off our 62nd year with another successful 50/50 raffle in December 2011, raising $20,000! We are now busy planning our 62nd Annual May Gala, fast approaching on May 19th at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead, MA. MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center is a special place. For those of us on the North Shore, many of our children have been born there, been patched up there or even spent a few nights there during their childhoods. We are very fortunate to have a world-class facility right in our backyards.

Sixty two years ago, a group of local women started the Merry Mixers, Friends of the North Shore Children’s Hospital, a non-profit organization designed with one sole purpose: to support and raise funds for this hospital that has cared for our kids for the past 100 years. While the faces have changed over time, our goal remains steadfast. Funds raised by the Merry Mixers goes directly to patient care services and the purchasing of critical medical equipment, enabling the Doctors and Nurses to provide first-class care to all patients.

We hope that you can help: In May, 2012, Merry Mixers will host our annual fundraising event. Our evening will include a raffle, as well as silent and live auction to raise funds for the Hospital.

Additionally, this year we are putting together our sixth edition “Bear Pages” for the event and are inviting businesses to support the hospital through advertisements. This program for the evening will include a business directory of the many local and national firms that support MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center. This directory will serve as a useful guide and referral for our supporters long after our event is over. We know from experience that the several hundred attendees who support the hospital through this event are anxious to patronize other MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center supporters.

The Merry Mixers wish to remember Anne Poor, our founding member, who brought this organization to life over 60 years ago. Anne recently passed away after a long and wonderful life at 91.
