Welcome to Merry Mixers!
The North Shore Children’s Hospital is
a special place. For those of us on the North Shore, many of our
children have been born there, been patched up there or even spent
a few nights there during their childhoods. We are very fortunate
to have a world-class facility, now a partner of Massachusetts
General Hospital for Children, right in our backyards.
Fifty five years ago, a group of local women started the Merry
Mixers, Friends of the North Shore Children’s Hospital,
a non-profit organization designed with one sole purpose: to support
and raise funds for this hospital that has cared for our kids
for the past 100 years. While the faces have changed over time,
our goal remains steadfast. We are very close to meeting our three
year commitment of building an entire room from paint on the walls
to the very expensive medical equipment which helps the doctors
and nurses to provide first class care to even the tiniest of
patients.
We hope that you can help: On May 3, 2008, Merry Mixers, Friends
of NSCH, will host our biggest-ever annual fundraising
event at the Corinthian Yacht Club, in Marblehead Massachusetts.
This entertaining evening will feature two nationally known artists:
Laughter and comedy by Jackie Flynn; Music and
dancing by the Chad Hollister Band. Our evening
will include a raffle, as well as silent and live auction to raise
funds for the Hospital.
Additionally, this year we are putting together our second edition
“Bear Pages” for the event
and are inviting businesses to support the hospital through advertisements.
This program for the evening will include a business directory
of the many local and national firms that support the NSCH. This
directory will serve as a useful guide and referral for our supporters
long after our event is over. We know from experience that the
several hundred attendees who support the hospital through this
event are anxious to patronize other NSCH supporters.
